The Safest Place

The safest place for any mortal is at the center of God*s will for him. There is insufficient guidance or protection anywhere else. We take a big chance when we step out of His will. I was never in danger of my parents* discipline when I was obedient. When I disobeyed them I deserved discipline. Much more when I disobey God. When I was a toddler I didn*t understand that what my parents wanted was best. As I matured I could see that it was. One difference between my parents and God is that He can see mysterious unseen dangers that my parents couldn*t. Trusting Him can sometimes seem like blind faith. But when we see and know Him it is NOT blind faith. We can have His guidance and protection by simply reading and obeying His Word, The Bible. When the Bible doesn*t give a specific direction for something we can ask for His guidance in it. Keep in mind that sometimes waiting for His answer is the wise thing.

Ephesians 6:12: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Psalms 119:105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

James 1:5 : If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Isaiah 40:31: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; . . .

Sometimes waiting on the Lord provides needed rest and sometimes it is better than exercise.

1 Kings 17:10a: So he arose and went to Zarephath. . . .

You have for your security His exceeding great and precious promises, and may say with the Psalmist, Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted with me? Hope thou in God, for I shall yet praise him who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
